The Weekend & Beyond

This past weekend, we went snowboarding / skiing near Tahoe to celebrate a friend's birthday. There was fresh powder everywhere! So even if I fell face-flat or butt-first, I loved it. I skied two weeks ago and survived it so I had a lot of confidence picking up snowboarding again. It was my second time after 1.5 years and I was amazed that I didn't fall too much :-) I got lost though and ended up at the base of another mountain. They ended up looking for me for hours hehe. Next year, I'll try to get better at snowboarding (and directions) and go every weekend that I can.

This past weekend, I also found out that Stanford rejected my application to their PhD program. Now, it's clear that I'll just continue working and finish an MS remotely, if ever. We'll see how that will pan out over the next few years.

After some thought, I want to buy my own place. Since I won't be going to school full-time anymore, I might as well get settled. Now the question is where and what - condo, townhouse or single home? I better start saving more aggressively this year; my goal is to buy next year.

Ah, the future is an open highway once again.
